Alboroto en el restaurante

Marcos está de vacaciones visitando a sus abuelos que regentan un restaurante. Es genial, porque Marcos puede comer todos los días en el restaurante y elegir de la carta lo que más le guste. Hoy va a comer pollo con patatas y para beber una limonada. De postre hay helado.

Esta tarde no hay mucho movimiento en el restaurante de sus abuelos. Solo hay un par de comensales. Además de Marcos hay otro cliente en el restaurante - una mujer mayor. Ella acaba de pedir la cuenta mientras aún bebe su café. El abuelo de Marcos, que es el camarero, imprime la cuenta en la caja y la trae en la bandeja, donde también está el helado de Marcos.

De repente se escucha un grito muy fuerte desde la cocina. Primero el gato sale corriendo por medio del restaurante. Después corre el cocinero detrás de él. ¡Oh no! El gato ha robado un pescado y se dirige hacia la puerta. El cocinero, que iba a preparar el pescado, persigue enfadado al gato.

«Menos mal que al gato le apetecía hoy pescado y no pollo», piensa Marcos.

Translation

Commotion in the restaurant

Marcos is on holiday visiting his grandparents, who run a restaurant. It’s great, because Marcos can eat at the restaurant every day and choose whatever he wants from the menu. Today he’s having chicken with potatoes and lemonade to drink. For dessert, there’s ice cream.

This afternoon there’s not much going on at his grandparents’ restaurant. There are only a few diners. Besides Marcos, there is another client in the restaurant – an older woman. She has just asked for the bill and is drinking her coffee. Marcos’ grandfather, who is the waiter, prints the bill at the till and brings it to her on a tray, which also carries Marcos’s ice cream.

Suddenly there is a loud shout from the kitchen. First the cat runs through the middle of the restaurant. Then the chef follows running behind him. Oh no! The cat has stolen a fish and is running towards the door. The chef, who wanted to prepare the fish, chases the cat angrily.

“At least the cat felt like fish today and not chicken” thought Marcos.
