En el aeropuerto

¡Por fin llegan las vacaciones! La señora Rosario se había ganado verdaderamente un descanso. Ella trabaja para un gran banco y a veces tiene que trabajar hasta bien entrada la noche. Ahora tiene una semana de vacaciones y quiere viajar al Caribe. Llega puntual al mostrador de facturación, enseña su pasaporte y entrega sus dos maletas.

Mientras tanto, impera en el aeropuerto un intenso gentío. Un piloto y una azafata pasan a toda prisa por delante de la señora Rosario. A través de un cristal se puede distinguir la torre de control y el avión que está en la pista de despegue. Y desde la otra ventana se puede ver la cinta de equipajes con maletas y mochilas enormes.

La señora Rosario mira en su tarjeta de embarque los datos del vuelo. Vuela desde la puerta de embarque A. Por fin puede ir a la zona de Duty-free. Ir de compras es su pasión y espera que a la vuelta no tenga que pagar en la aduana.

Sin embargo la señora Rosario no sabe aún que los controladores aéreos han empezado una huelga. La pista de despegue permanecerá el resto del día vacía.

Translation

At the airport

Finally the holidays are here! Rosario has really earned a break. She works for a large bank and sometimes she has to work late into the night. Now she has one week of holiday and she wants to go to the Caribbean. She arrives on time at the check-in counter, shows her passport and checks in her two suitcases.

Meanwhile, an intense crowd ebbs and flows in the airport. A pilot and a flight attendant rush past Rosario. Through a window you can make out the control tower and a plane that is on the runway. From the other window you can see the baggage carousel full of enormous suitcases and bags.

Rosario looks at the flight details on her boarding pass. She’s flying from gate A. She can finally go to the duty free area. Shopping is her passion, and she hopes that when she gets back she won’t have to pay customs.

However, Rosario doesn’t know that the air traffic controllers are on strike. The runway will remain empty for the rest of the day.
