Many Spanish punctuation marks are the same as their English counterparts, but some not only look different, but also have slightly different uses.

- Y María dijo: «Si hubiera sabido que venías, habría preparado un bizcocho». And María said, “If I’d known you were coming, I would have made a cake.”
