A rainy autumn day
One day I was looking out the window and I realised that the summer was over and autumn had begun. Outside you could see the classic autumn foliage. Everything was covered with a layer of leaves in reds and oranges, and in every corner puddles had formed after a very wet night.
When I saw a kite stuck in one of the branches of a tree I became completely discouraged. I wanted to go for a walk with my dog, but it was more pleasant to stay warm at home and watch how the squirrels ate the first bunches of grapes of the season while the rest of the animals started to collect fruits to prepare for the winter.
Despite the weather my dad went out to check that the rain hadn’t damaged the pumpkins and the corn that we had planted. Meanwhile, my mother raked leaves so that the gutters in the garden didn’t get clogged. Suddenly my dad started acting like a child and jumped in a puddle, soaking a poor hedgehog. I’m sure that the poor thing would have liked an umbrella or a raincoat!
