La Semana Blanca
¡Ya me toca a mí! Tengo tres hermanas mayores y siempre me ha dado mucha envidia cuando se iban de excursión a la nieve con su clase en pleno invierno. Este año, por fin podré celebrar yo también la Semana Blanca.
La Semana Blanca es una semana no lectiva en febrero en la que se hace un viaje a una región montañosa con nieve para practicar deportes de invierno. A mí en concreto me gusta especialmente porque no hay clase, honestamente. Pero todo el mundo habla maravillas de ella porque dicen que se lo pasan genial.
Para empezar, hay que viajar a Sierra Nevada, que está en Granada. Desde Segovia tardaremos unas seis o siete horas en autobús. Al final siempre hay que hacer alguna parada extra porque alguien quiere ir al baño y no se puede aguantar.
Será un viaje largo, pero una vez allí, el entretenimiento estará garantizado. Podremos ver competiciones profesionales de saltadores de esquí. A mí solo ver la rampa por la que se deslizan ya me da vértigo. En mi opinión, todos tendrían que ganar el título de campeón.
Pero no todo va a ser sentarse en la grada, evidentemente. Me han contado que hay una gran pista de hielo donde podemos hacer patinaje artístico. Yo no he patinado sobre hielo en la vida, pero no parece muy difícil.
El profesor de Educación Física quiere que aprovechemos la oportunidad para hacer una competición informal entre los alumnos. Dice que es voluntaria, pero que quien se suba al podio, ganará un punto adicional en la evaluación. No me parece nada bien, ¿no se supone que eran unas vacaciones?

Ski Week
It’s my turn! I have three older sisters and I was always envious whenever they went on their class ski trip in the middle of winter. This year, I will finally be able to celebrate winter break too.
Ski week is a week off in February when you go on a trip to a snowy mountain region to do winter sports. To be honest, the main reason I like it is because there’s no school. But everyone raves about it because they say they have a great time.
To start with, you have to travel to the Sierra Nevada, which is in Granada. It will take us around six or seven hours on the bus from Segovia. We always end up making an extra stop because someone needs to go to the bathroom and can’t hold it.
It will be a long journey, but once we’re there, entertainment is guaranteed. We’ll be able to watch professional ski jumping competitions. I get dizzy just from looking at the ramp they go down. In my opinion, they should all be crowned champions.
But it’s not all about sitting in the stands, of course. I’m told that there’s a big ice rink where we can do figure skating. I’ve never been ice skating in my life, but it doesn’t seem that difficult.
Our PE teacher wants to take the opportunity to have an informal competition among the students. He says it’s voluntary, but whoever ends up on the winner’s podium will get an extra point on their assessment. It doesn’t seem right to me, doesn’t he realise that it’s supposed to be a vacation?
